News from the Weekend

Ireland's Matt Griffin scored a last minute victory in his class in the opening round of the World Endurance Championship race at Silverstone, with his Ferrari 488 GTE taking over top place when long time leader Pedro Lamy's Aston Martin tangled with the Ferrari of Miguel Molina at Stowe corner on the final lap of the six hour race.

The surprised Corkman and his Clearwater Racing co-drivers Keita Sawa and Mok Weng Sun took the chequered flag just 1.7 seconds ahead of Portuguese veteran Lamy, having held third position for much of the race.

Charlie Eastwood completely dominated rounds three and four of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Donington Park, starting both races from pole position and leading from start to finish each time. The 21 year-old Belfast man takes over the lead in the Carrera championship, having scored two second places in the opening rounds at Brands Hatch a fortnight ago.
