Corkman Matt Griffin completed a busy weekend of motor racing by finishing fourth and sixth in the opening two rounds of the British GT Championship at Oulton Park, in Cheshire. He shared a Ferrari 488 GTE with regular co-driver Duncan Cameron to sixth in yesterday's opening race, despite having to start from the back of the grid because he was unable to take part in the qualifying session on Saturday as he was racing at Silverstone.
The Irishman improved to fourth place in the second of the one hour races, less than seven seconds behind the winners. Griffin's hectic weekend schedule saw him score a last minute class win in Sunday's opening round of the World Endurance Championship, in an exciting finish which left him just 1.7 seconds ahead of Portuguese veteran Pedro Lamy's Aston Martin after six hours of racing.
On Saturday, also at Silverstone, he had teamed up with Cameron again to take the Ferrari to fourth place in class in the opening round of the European Le Mans Series.
