Former Young Rally Driver of the Year Rob Duggan and his co-driver Ger Conway led from start to finish to win the Rentokil Initial Historic Rally based in Killarney, with their Escort finishing 14 seconds ahead of Ireland’s World Rally Championship star Craig Breen in another Escort, co-driven by local man Paul Nagle, his regular partner.

Last year’s winners Owen Murphy and Anthony Nestor were third this time, completing an Escort clean sweep of the podium positions, while Welshman Neil Williams was best of the overseas drivers in fourth place overall.

Colin O’Donoghue and Sean Collins won the Modified section, 20 seconds clear of Gary Kiernan/Daren O’Brien in yet another Escort.

Richard Meeke took top place in the MEC Kilkenny Cup Sporting Trial at Mondello Park, with Siobhan McCann taking runner-up spot on a tiebreak from Enda Byrne.
