A Message from reigning Motorsport Ireland Young Rally Driver of the Year, Josh McErlean
2020 was always going to be a learning year for me as I embarked on my debut season in the R5 category.
It has been a testing year for many but Keaton and I kept pushing, kept our cool and focused on our goals. It wasn't long before we were able to reap the rewards of our efforts.
I have to say I was very lucky to go and experience the events we did; it was simply sensational and will certainly be a season I`ll never forget.
I have been very fortunate with the support I have received from Motorsport Ireland, the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy, Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing and Michelin Motorsport. More importantly, I can’t thank all my personal sponsors enough as I understand how hard 2020 was in terms of business, they have stuck by me and for that I am truly grateful.
As the new year beckons, new challenges are on the horizon. I must push forward more than ever as I believe 2021 will be the most important year in my rallying career to date. In 2020 we have built relationships, we built a team of people, we have built trust and we have gained vital European experience.
In 2021, I must bring it all together and make it one complete package; I am confident I can make this happen!
I can’t thank you enough for your incredible support in 2020, it has been a remarkable journey from Wales in February to Italy in December.
