This week’s Motorsport Ireland – RIAC classic video from the RPM Motorsport collection is highlights from the 1996 Formula Vee Festival.
Held in Mondello Park, the 1996 Formula Vee Festival saw over 50 cars fight it out for the big prize including a number UK competitors in higher specification cars which left the locals with a mountain to climb. Ray Moore provided a dominant display in the first semi final while the other semi final provided a photo finish between Padraig Owens and Brian Hearty. In the 15 lap final though, there was nobody to touch Moore, who swept to victory ahead of Hearty and John Randall.
