Mattie McNamara RIP

Motorsport Ireland would like to express their sympathy on the recent passing of Martin (Mattie) McNamara. A well-known garage proprietor in Athenry for many years before his retirement, Mattie is best remembered for his many successes driving Anglias, Escorts and Mins, both on the track and on closed roads at Hillclimbs throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s. 

Predeceased by his wife Joy, Mattie is survived by his 6 children, Eileen, June, Margaret, Tara, Frank and Lester.
