Roe Heads for Indianapolis

James Roe is looking forward to racing at the iconic Indianapolis
Motor Speedway for the first doubleheader of the season

With only two Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires events under his belt, Irishman James Roe will compete at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. Taking part in the first double-header race of the season, Roe is coming off a successful test last week at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and is hoping that momentum can be carried into the world’s most iconic racecourse.

“New weekend and new opportunities,” explained James Roe. “This is almost like a home race for me since I relocated to the Indy area, and I always look forward to being able to drive at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This will be the first time in 2022 that we will race twice in the same weekend and though I am familiar with that in the past, it will be a first for me in Indy Lights.”

Despite a tough start to the 2022 season, Roe has a positive attitude as he looks to climb the results sheets.

“We have been working very hard off the track and that hard work will pay off,” added the TJ Speed Motorsports driver. “Last week at Mid-Ohio, we made huge strides forward. This weekend we have set reasonable goals, and I look forward to achieving them.”

With the annual Chris Griffis Test and a private test already complete at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the past six months, Roe has some track knowledge and experiences to build upon while his team has a great starting point on setups.

Roe continued, “The Indy Lights program is the second highest open wheel racing category in North America and only one step away from INDYCAR. You need to be firing on all cylinders and have a flawless weekend to have a chance to stand on the podium. I have the team and equipment to do just that, we just need to keep making steps forward over the course of the race weekend, make the right decisions and be smart.”

James Roe will hit the track on Friday for three sessions including the first race of the weekend. Race two will take place just prior to the NTT INDYCAR Series event on Saturday. Please find the complete schedule below. All action available on Indy Car Live/Peacock TV.
