MOTORSPORT IRELAND RALLY ACADEMY MEMBERS SET FOR RALLY OF THE LAKES
This weekend’s Rally of Lakes, the fourth round of the Irish Tarmac Championship counts towards the Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup and the all-important Rally4 class. There is plenty of Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy interest in both categories that run alongside each other.

MAX HART SIGNS WITH Z-SPEED FOR TCR ASIA
Macau TCR winner Max Hart announced his 2024 race plans. He has signed a deal with the Z-Speed Hyundai team and will contest the TCR Asia series.

The series kicks off at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on May 3/4/5, and returns to the same circuit on June 7/8/9.  They will then have two meetings at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand in August and September, before returning to China for the penultimate round at Ningbo International Speedpark.

IRELAND NO LONGER IN CONSIDERATION FOR WRC 2025 CALENDAR
It is with deep regret that Motorsport Ireland confirmed that Ireland is no longer being considered to host a round of the FIA World Rally Championship in 2025. On Monday April 15th Motorsport Ireland finally received confirmation from Minister Byrne, Minister of State for Sport, Physical Education and the Gaeltacht, that his Department would need “at least six months” to undertake further independent economic assessments and analysis of our proposal.

Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy co-driver Eoin Treacy will experience back-to-back weekends working with two of the biggest teams in the World Rally Championship. His hectic programme of events got underway last weekend when he partnered with fellow Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy driver Josh McErlean to an incredible fifth overall in Rali Terras d'Aboboreira in Portugal.

WATCH THE 2004 RALLY OF THE LAKES FROM 7PM, THURSDAY MAY 2ND
This week’s Motorsport Ireland – RIAC classic video from the RPM Motorsport collection is highlights from the 2004 Rally of the Lakes.

Derek McGarrity took a start to finish victory on the 2004 Rally of the Lakes with co-driver Dermot O'Gorman. Local crew Donie O'Sullivan and Paul Nagle were on course for second place until they crashed out on the penultimate stages but there was local success elsewhere with Alan Ring taking Group N and Brendan Brosnan winning the National section.
