Birr & District Motor Club 2 Day Autocross- Autism Friendly Hour & Youth Training
Birr & District MC are delighted to announce:
The Billy Cavanagh Memorial 2 day Autocross will take place on the 30th & 31st of August and we are delighted to be taking this years event to a new venue (E53AN22). You can enter for either one day, or both days.
Willie Percy has stepped up to the COC role this year and the work put in by him and his team is outstanding!
Both days will be counting rounds of the Shannon Trophies National Grass Surface Autocross Championship but the Sunday event will also host a round of the Barrett International Transport and CJN Plant Limited Munster Autocross Championship.

Autism-Friendly Hour – A Calmer Way to Enjoy Cars
Saturday 30th August | 6 – 7pm | Eircode: E53 AN22
At the 2 day Autocross event, the autocross cars, specials and buggies will be parked
– no engines running, no loud noises. This quiet hour is perfect for anyone who prefers a more relaxed, sensory-friendly environment.
Families and individuals with autism or other sensory needs are especially welcome to come see the cars up close in a calmer setting.
In conjunction with Birr & District Motor Clubs Youth Academy:
Youth Training Evening – Learn Real Motorsport Skills
Saturday 30th August | 7pm | Eircode: E53 AN22
If you're under 18 and interested in motorsport or just want to try something different – this training evening is for you.
Topics include:
• Autocross
• Fire Safety
• Rally Rescue Equipment
• Scrutiny & Scrutineering (how cars & safety equipment are checked for racing)
• “Steering Positive Minds” – a chat on confidence, self-care and mindset
This is a great opportunity to learn directly from experienced competitors, officials and
motorsport crew.
All under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
