Coleman continues Rally2 learning curve with ninth on Cork 20

Casey Jay Coleman and Killian McArdle finished ninth overall on the Cork 20 Rally in their Skoda Fabia Rally2, as they continue their step up to Rally2 after their Wexford Stages Rally podium.

The all-Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy crew were up against tricky conditions, with a mix of dry and wet surfaces on almost every stage. They showed their speed by setting fourth-fastest times on stage four and six before going third-fastest on Saturday’s penultimate test.

A brace of top four times on the final two stages capped off a productive weekend for the duo.

"Overall it was another very positive weekend in the RLA Autosport Skoda," said Coleman. "The conditions all weekend made it quite difficult but it was nice to be setting third and fourth quickest times across the weekend.”

“Unfortunately some small mistakes and some average times meant we had to settle for ninth overall among some very experienced competitors. Still it was great learning and experience in my transition from Rally3 to Rally2 machinery.”
