Rally Refuel Reminder for 2027

As communicated in December 2025, please see below a reminder regarding refuelling arrangements for Motorsport Ireland permitted rallies in 2027.

The Euro M-Sport refuelling rig will continue to attend all rally events throughout 2027.

To promote fairness and equal competition across all homologated classes, and in line with recognised FIA standards, control fuel supplied by Euro M-Sport will be mandatory for all homologated classes competing on MI permitted stage rallies and in MI permitted rally championships in 2027.

Competitors will have a choice of the following control fuels:
• Elf Core 50
• SP98 Racing Fuel

Modified and Historic classes will continue to have the option of either self-refuelling or using the Euro M-Sport refuelling rig.

For the avoidance of doubt, the homologated classes to which the mandatory control fuel requirement applies are:

International Rallies
RC2, RC3, RC4, RC5, RGT and Classes 22, 24 and 25.

National Rallies
Classes 1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 15.

Junior 1000 Licence Requirement Reminder

All potential, future J1000 licence holders are reminded that: from January 1st 2027, in order to get a Junior Rally B licence for the first time, you must first complete 3 Autotest and 3 Autocross events. All Autotest and Autocross events for 2026 have lowered the age limit for junior competitors to 12 years old to facilitate this. Such competitors should use a Junior Rally C licence, which can then be upgraded to Junior Rally B once they have completed the events. The purpose of this rule change is to ensure J1000 competitors have a greater level of experience and car control before starting a stage rally. Current J1000 licence holders remain unaffected.

Competitor Contribution Scheme Reminder

Motorsport Ireland would like to remind our community about the Competitor Contribution Scheme. Penalty fees for non-contribution will be active from 01 January 2027.

You can view the full details of the scheme, including Frequently Asked Questions, our new Appendix 12 regulations, and the operations manual for clubs and event organisers at our dedicated CCS page below.
