Ireland proudly represented at FIA Karting Arrive & Drive World Cup in Malaysia
Ireland was proudly represented at the first-ever FIA Karting Arrive & Drive World Cup, where Jack McLoughlin and Adam Holmes joined more than one hundred promising young racers from 50 different countries. The event took place at Malaysia’s LYL International Circuit from 14–16 November 2025, marking a significant new addition to the global karting calendar.
The atmosphere across the paddock was very different from a typical race weekend. Before anyone even put on a helmet, the FIA hosted a full development programme tailored to the needs of young competitors. Drivers attended media training sessions, fitness and wellbeing workshops, and practical briefings designed to prepare them for both the demands of international racing and the off-track responsibilities that come with growing careers. It set a professional tone from the outset and helped level the field in terms of confidence and knowledge.
For the on-track competition, every entrant raced in a standardised Kosmic Mercury T kart, supplied directly by OTK Group. This Arrive & Drive structure ensured that no team had an advantage through equipment, budget, or setup. Instead, the focus shifted entirely to driving ability, adaptability, and how well each racer could tackle the challenges of the 1.5 km LYL circuit. The track’s fast corners, tight chicanes and its unique bridge-and-tunnel section demanded precision and bravery lap after lap.
Both Irish competitors rose to the occasion.
• Jack McLoughlin, competing in Arrive & Drive Junior, fought through a very competitive field and secured 21st in Final A, a strong result in a class packed with international talent.
• Adam Holmes, representing Ireland in the Senior category, delivered an impressive performance all weekend and crossed the line 5th in the B Final.
Jack and Adam showcased professionalism, speed, and determination throughout the weekend, doing Ireland proud at a landmark event created to highlight and support the next generation of global karting talent.
