John Coyne and Killian McArdle to compete in WRC Secto Rally Finland
John Coyne, Founder and Patron of the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy, has entered WRC Secto Rally Finland 2025 in an M-Sport Poland Ford Fiesta Rally3. John will be accompanied by Academy codriver Killian McArdle who will be competing on his first WRC event.
John said: "I'm delighted to provide Killian this opportunity to add the experience of a WRC event to his existing Irish, UK and European Championship portfolio, as part of the Rally Academy codriver development programme.”
“I introduced Eoin Treacy to WRC level codriving, when we competed on WRC Mexico and WRC Finland in 2023, and the experience gained on these events was important in his progression to his current seat, codriving for Josh McErlean, at the sport's top level, in the M-Sport World Rally Team Puma Rally1.”
“I'm looking forward to returning to the unique challenge of the high-speed roller-coaster roads in Finland and also excited to drive a Rally3 Fiesta for the first time, and to experience for myself the capability of this critical stepping-stone in the FIA rally-car pyramid for young up and coming drivers.”
Killian said: "I'm super excited to compete on my first WRC event with John. We enjoyed two good finishes earlier this year on the Moonraker and Circuit of Ireland, and now to be heading to Finland, one of the most iconic WRC rallies, is like a dream come true. It's a superb opportunity to expand my experience as a codriver, and I'm grateful to the Academy for this opportunity"
Also for this event, Academy members Josh Mc Erlean and Eoin Tracy will compete in WRC Rally1, while Eamonn kelly and Conor Mohan will compete in JWRC.
