Jordan Kelly Claims Leinster Trophy Victory at Mondello Park
Jordan Kelly added his name to the prestigious Leinster Trophy roll of honour on Sunday, taking victory in the Formula Vee race at Mondello Park.
The Leinster Trophy is one of Irish motorsport’s most historic prizes, with its past winners including legendary names such as Ayrton Senna, Eddie Jordan, Mika Häkkinen and many more. For Kelly, lifting the trophy represents the culmination of a huge amount of work behind the scenes to get his Formula Vee car ready for the challenge.
Speaking after his victory, Kelly admitted that winning the trophy was a huge relief after all the effort that had gone into the car. He recalled the days of watching his father Brian racing for the same trophy in 2009 and wondering if he would get the chance to race for it himself one day.
Kelly’s victory adds his name to an illustrious list of Leinster Trophy winners and marks a significant achievement in his Formula Vee career. Taking one of Irish motorsport’s most coveted trophies at Mondello Park is a result that will undoubtedly be remembered for years to come.
Attention now turns to another historic prize, with Kelly hoping to venture out in his Formula Ford for the Martin Donnelly Trophy. Following his Leinster Trophy success, he will be hoping to carry that momentum into another opportunity to add his name to the winners’ list of one of Irish motorsport’s prestigious trophies.
