Kerry women prepare for Fastnet Rally
There is a notable lineup of Kerry-based Female competitors contesting this weekend’s Fastnet Rally, the final round of the Triton Showers Motorsport Ireland National Rally Championship.
Organised by Skibbereen and District Motor Club and based in Bantry, the event brings the curtain down on the 2025 national season.
Among the Kerry Motor Club entrants are Michelle Quinn from Lyreacrompane and her co-driver Caz Somers, who head to West Cork having already secured Class 2A honours in the Top Part West Coast Rally Championship.
The pair will compete in their Honda Civic, aiming to complete their season on a high over the Fastnet’s challenging eight-stage route.
Killarney-based Louise Bourke, originally from Tipperary, continues her Junior season in her Peugeot 206 Cup Car with co-driver Edwin Walsh.
Elaine Ní Shé, co-drives for Donegal’s Alan Sweeney in a Ford Escort in Class 14 while the father-and-daughter crew of John and Michelle Hickey will share their distinctive Ford Escort RS 4x4 in Class 20.
