Tohill & PFCRX deliver clean-sweep 5 Nations BRX double-victory at Lydden Hill
Reigning British Rallycross Champion Derek Tohill and the PFCRX team began the defence of the 2025 title with the opening double-header of the season at Lydden Hill, and dominated [April 5-6].
The weekend opened with the 2025 Night of Champions, where the PFCRX Peugeot 208 WRX was displayed carrying the coveted ‘GB1’ number and Tohill collected his second British Rallycross Championship trophy.
From Sunday morning, it was time to look forward for the 2026 season, and action on track began in earnest. Across every heat race and final, the Irish team and driver Tohill were never headed.
Fastest in every session on each of the two days, Tohill started on pole position for the final in both rounds before leading from the front in each encounter and claiming a pair of victories, the 11th and 12th of Tohill’s British Championship Supercar career. The result tied him in the all-time British Championship winners list with Trevor Hopkins and Helmut Holfeld, in front of a packed Easter Bank Holiday Monday crowd.
The Lydden success began a campaign of mixed events for the team, including Irish, British, French, and European Championship outings.

“You always enjoy driving at Lydden, it’s an incredible place, but this weekend was just a bit different. After we collected the 2025 Championship trophy on Saturday evening, we headed into a weekend we couldn’t have expected.
When it’s going so well, it's actually kind of difficult to enjoy at times because you’re thinking it’s too good to be true. You have to pinch yourself. It never usually goes like this for a whole weekend. So much work goes into creating these moments, and we have to make sure we enjoy them, because they may never happen again.
To win every start, lead every race, and take home a clean sweep is amazing. I remember Andreas Bakkerud getting a clean sweep in World RX up in Hell, Norway, for the first time, and I never imagined doing something similar, especially in a double-header at Lydden Hill. The team has been unbelievable as usual, but especially as everything was such a push to get sorted after a difficult weekend in Mondello a month before. Thanks to PFCRX, Oreca, C-Sport, and DA Racing for their efforts. I think a lot of the lads thought we wouldn’t make it, but I think they’re all delighted that we did. We need to enjoy this, then turn to thinking about what we do next, including the British and Irish Championships at Mondello Park next month.”
