Zero Limits 2025 – “The Best Day of My Life”

“This is the best day of my life” was a phrase uttered many times at Mondello Park Race Track on the 9th and 10th of July 2025 as 120 participants who are blind or vision impaired came together for the fifth instalment of Vision Sports Ireland’s Zero Limits.

On two scorching hot days, the track came alive with nerves, excitement and anticipation as Vision Sports Ireland members got the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a car before experiencing passenger laps with some of Ireland’s leading rally/drift drivers around the circuit.

Zero Limits, a collaboration between Vision Sport Ireland and Motorsport Ireland, gives participants the opportunity to experience something they may otherwise never get the chance to do and driving a car is a dream many may have thought was not possible. As participant Emma Louise Clancy put it “Keep dreaming and one day it will come true”.

Sara Mc Fadden, event coordinator commented “This year marked the fifth instalment of our Zero Limits Track Day, a truly special event that has now seen 475 of our blind and vision impaired members take to the track, with many experiencing the thrill of driving for the very first time. Zero Limits has embodied our commitment of challenging perceptions and redefining what’s possible for people who are blind or vision impaired. None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support of our incredible volunteers and partners.”

The magic of Zero Limits is best described by participant Pavlo who said “I liked the experience of driving the car the most because it was my first driving experience. It was new special emotions that I will remember for a long time.” While Roisin spoke to us after her day describing it as “Absolutely powerful, I always wanted to go really fast in my car and I’m 12 years not driving a car and that was exquisite”.
