McCloughry Set for FIA Karting World Cup & Podium Success at F100 O’Plate for Brennan & Faulkner
Ben McCloughry will take part in the FIA Karting World Cup later this month at Cremona, Italy, competing in the OK-N Junior category with kart number 177.
Launched in 2024 as the curtain-raiser to the FIA Karting World Championship for the OK and OK-Junior classes, the OK-N World Cup will this time headline the event. Alongside it will run the OK-N Junior World Cup – which will be celebrated for the first time – and the third and final round of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy.
The event will be staged at the Cremona Karting circuit in San Martino del Lago, a 1,210-metre track renowned for its technical layout. The wider Cremona facility also includes a 3.7 km car and motorcycle circuit, which runs anti-clockwise and features 13 turns.
This year’s World Cup has already attracted 225 drivers, with around 90 in OK-N and over 80 in OK-N Junior. Demand for entries was so strong that applications for the OK-N class had to be closed just hours after they opened, underlining the growing strength of FIA Karting events.
For McCloughry, Cremona will mark another step on the international stage after finishing fourth in this year’s Tillotson Ireland Championship in the X30 Junior class. Competing in the OK-N Junior category, he will gain invaluable experience against the world’s best young drivers in what is set to be the class’s first-ever World Cup.
The FIA Karting World Cup will run from 25–28 September, with entries, timetable, results, and live coverage available on the FIA Karting website www.fiakarting.com
